Formal Appraisal. A formal appraisal is more researched than an Informal Appraisal. It begins with your description and photograph(s) but will include detailed references and auction or sales comparisons of like items if available. This appraisal includes listings of reference materials used to determine value. We will also include comparison photos, and explanation of the factors we used to confirm the item's value. We will provide you with an estimate of fair market value and estimated replacement price. For this type of appraisal, we may require additional photographs of your item(s) in order to make a reasonable determination of value. The Formal Appraisal will be sent to you priority mail and can also be emailed if desired. Price for the Formal Appraisal is $59.95 and $4.80 for priority mail delivery. Each additional item $19.95 with no additional charge for postage. We can usually prepare an formal appraisal for one item within 5-7 working days after receiving your information. Requests for additional items may require more time.

We confirm your order and begin your appraisal as soon as we receive your payment and information about the Steiff you wish appraised.

We will never offer to buy an item for which we provide an appraisal. We charge a flat fee upfront only - regardless of the value of the item appraised.
