Steiff 1904 Replica Bear. EAN404153, 24 inches. Hand crafted in the traditional manner, this Steiff is a true replica in many ways. The mohair has been exactly reproduced after the original; he is softly stuffed with wooden shavings; limbs are jointed loosely which gives him the true feeling of a well-loved vintage bear. Shoe button eyes, hand-stitched mouth and nose with four claws on each paw. Ear button is replica of true original elephant button made of stainless steel. There is no ear tag with the button, as Steiff did not use the ear tags in 1904; the tag is sewn into the side seam under his left arm as it was done originally. Mint condition, includes special box and certificate. (Please note: one corner of the bottom of the box has a water stain)
